A dispensing robot applies adhesive, sealant, or coating along a programmed path. The two specs that decide bead quality are path repeatability and a constant tool-center-point speed, because the bead width changes if the robot speeds up or slows down. Reach and wrist articulation determine whether the applicator can follow the full path without reorienting the part.
